Dear Parents and Carers
 


We would like to remind parents that we close at 18.00pm on Friday May 23rd and reopen on Tuesday May 27th at 08.00am.
Now that the summer has arrived, please can we ask that all children are provided with sun cream and a hat that is named. Thank you




Snails


The focus in the snails this week will continue to be physical development.  Alisha and Leanne will support the children to pull themselves to standing and walk using the walkers in the garden and the children will have the opportunity to explore the soft play and water.  Creative activities, this week, include feather painting, gluing and sticking and chalking.


Planned activities within the Snails surround each child’s current interest in conjunction with supporting and extending their development.  To find out what activities are planned for your child for this week, please see your child’s keyworker who will be happy to take you through the planning.

Caterpillars


This week the Caterpillars team will focus on movement and sound through music and paint. The team shall support the children move to sounds and develop sensory skills through heuristic play. Creative activities, this week, include table painting, body painting, cornflour play and playdough.

Ladybirds


The current interests in the ladybirds are books cars and bugs. This week the children will be encouraged to join in with a bug hunt, in the garden and will also have the opportunity to enjoy water play with ducks and an ice cube bug farm.  The book of the week is ‘spot on the move’. Creative activities, this week, include car painting, mark making with pencils and making a car track with boxes and material.

Bumblebees


This week group time activities include sorting colours, number flash cards, parachute games, zip frames and using our bodies in different ways.  The stories of the week are ‘Phonics stories’ and ‘People who help us’.  Planned activities within the Bumblebees surround each child’s current interest in conjunction with supporting and extending their development.  To find out what activities are planned for your child for this week, please see your child’s keyworker who will be happy to take you through the planning which is now displayed on the large notice board outside the Bumblebees room.

Butterflies                       


 This week the focus shall be on ‘The smartest giant in the town’ story. The children will talk about what characters they need to make a display of the book, making a George from the story by drawing around ourselves and decorating, making the animals from the story with construction equipment. The children will also be encouraged to write key points from the story and sequence them together.
