Dear Parents and Carers

Snails
The babies shall be exploring leaves and twigs in the garden this week to coincide with their theme of outdoor play.   Story times and sand and water play shall also take place in the garden.  The wooden and metal treasure baskets shall also be taken outside.
Days Off Jenni – Thursday

Caterpillars
This week the Caterpillars shall be using their garden as their focus.  Heuristic play and wellington boot painting shall take place outside, as well as mark making using feathers and water.
Alisha annual Leave – Tuesday and Wednesday

Ladybirds
The Ladybirds shall be concentrating on ‘Art’ this week, as the children have shown great interest in mark making over the past week.  To support their interest the children will have the opportunity to use clay, table painting, body painting and using chalk to create pictures in the garden.
Days off   Julie – Friday

Bumblebees
Land transport shall be the focus of interest for the Bumblebees for the next two weeks as the children have shown interest in the transport theme through their role play.  The team shall encourage the children to build cars and trains using the Duplo bricks, whilst eh children make train tickets to use in the role play area.  The transport puzzles shall be used to support the children’s understanding of different modes of travel.
    Tash – Day off, Friday

Butterflies
Outdoor play has been chosen as the current interest this week as the children have really enjoyed free flow this week, perhaps because of the change in climate.  Outside has proven to fuel the imagination of the children which is apparent in their play.
This week the children shall also be toasting marshmallows outside and making medals in the woodwork area for the running games that are planned.
Discussions times with the children shall focus on healthy living, including diet and exercise.
Lee would like to remind parents that, due to the bank holiday, there will be no Forest school this week and advise parents that he is on holiday Thursday and Friday.
Jo has had her tonsils out and therefore will be absent from nursery for the next two weeks.  Amy and Lee will be able to answer any questions you may have in the meantime.
